I was impressed right away with the game’s fresh visual style – at first glance, one might be tempted to call it a 16-bit retro style, but it is not quite that easy to categorize. Good luck, people.Having not played the original title, and not being a veteran of skateboarding titles, I came to OlliOlli2 with an open mind. Overall, if you have the guts to try this game, be prepared for a sadistic experience with the most slippery skater humanity has ever seen.

The Pro Stages 3-2 and 5-1 can be really troublesome to beat perfectly.

It's definitely easier than the Pro Challenges, however do not underestimate it.

3-5 was a pain too: tricky to complete, hard Score Challenge and there was a Challenge asking you not to perform any Manuals (this one made the stage even tougher than it already was).Īfter getting through every Challenge, you'll have to go through RAD mode. 5-5 is the 2nd hardest stage: not as tricky as 5-3 to complete but getting 5M points was very challenging (in the end I got 5.8M but it took so many attempts ). 5-3 was insane and it's hard to just get through it safely, let alone get all the Challenges (it took me about 400 attempts to beat it just once with a score of 2.95M whereas the required score is 3M ). Honorable mention goes to the following 3 Pro stages: 5-3, 5-5 and 3-5.

The other Challenges were no joke either: getting the collectibles Challenges was really hard too since some stages had those collectibles placed in very tricky spots. It's as frustrating as doing fighting game's Trials honestly. Add a half-assed Score system that decides to award you enough points after thousands of attempts even though you were doing pretty much the same things in every run.

Getting the required Scores takes so fucking many attempts and you'll have to learn Perfection: everything has to be well-timed and accurate and you'll have to learn how to do tons of spins without breaking your bones while landing. After the 1st 5 stages though, everything else was pure hell. The 1st Pro stages aren't actually that bad and felt easier than Amateur TS stages. God damn it, Pro mode is hard as fuck (not sure how the person above me could rate the difficulty without trying the hardest stuff in the game.). After getting pissed at Amateur TS stages, I went right into Pro mode. The Amateur Challenges are all easy enough until you get to the Amateur Titan Sky stages which will prove to be a huge spike in terms of difficulty. It starts out fun and easy on Amateur and lets you understand the mechanics of the game easily. This game is extremely difficult, frustrating, infuriating and not addictive.

Man, was that annoying! Like 4 h sunk in that alone. It either did 1 trick but not the other and I swear the inputs weren't registering correctly every time I did the same motions again and again. Finally with practice I started doing the double laserflip consistently at the 1st jump and somehow made the 720 flip work in a mid-level grind.ĭon't manual challenges, pick X of something (some relics in pro aztec lol), don't grind/only grind X and the high jumps where you can't see the ground in RAD can all go die in a hellhole too! lol Edited Apby Shapeshifterĩ/10. The hardest challenge for me was in carnival of the dead, double laserflip+720 flip. I found using the pause button helps with a few challenges giving you time to react and re-orient the stick. You have to be very fast and precise, because sometimes you have to perfect grind and still do the trick carrying great momentum, which increases the difficulty. With time large combos come naturally so the score challenges aren't THAT though, amateur or pro. The jumps where you can't see the floor and the grinding rails where the background literally blinds you. I punched my controller a few times out of frustration lol Especially some of those Aztec levels where you can't see sh*t. RAD Mode was not too bad overall, but it's probably one of the most annoying things ever. Most difficult out of all the challenges imo. when I played the game fresh and I got stuck on the Amateur Titan Sky levels to complete their respective challenges, they seemed impossible, until I found out how to properly combo. There are many challenges and it will test both your patience and perseverance.įor me the parts where I struggled are. I guess only because it can be done in a reasonable amount of time, but it is very difficult to achieve.

In fact, this is the only game that made my hands go all warm like Street Fighter did, and I love it for it. Just the last daily grind and I'm done!! In fact I'm confused if I'll get my last daily grind today or tomorrow, but no sweaty fingers anymore.
